Isabella Blow

The late Isabella Blow

Before Lady Gaga and Daphne Guinness there was Isabella Blow! The original style chameleon and British icon who discovered designers Alexander McQueen and Julien McDonald as well as models Sophie Dahl and Stella Tennant. Today at Somerset House in London opened the ‘Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore!’ exhibition to celebrate the life and fearless fashions of a woman who has inspired many of today’s style mavens.

On show are more than 100 pieces from her wardrobe which showcase her eclectic style and vivacious personality. Also on display are garments from some of the designers whose careers she nurtured from the start such as John Galliano’s couture dresses and Phillip Treacy’s incredible intricate hats which she was often seen wearing.

There is also a book based on the exhibition which will be a fantastic tome to add to your collection, as there is still so much to discover about this icon whose personal style and legacy is still relevant today.

‘Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore!’ exhibition open 20th November 2013 until 2nd March 2014.
