Kristen for W magazine

Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of her films but I what I do admire is that she has finally climbed out of her red carpet “micro mini” rut.

Kristen has figured out what colours, shapes and lengths work to accentuate the best parts of her body and this has enabled her to try out daring pieces I never thought she would wear.

Now she looks more comfortable and confident in a mix of designer pieces and her personality shines through. Here are some of her key looks and hopefully the days of the micro mini are over.

Tom Ford embraced monochrome in his Spring/Summer collection

There are always so many trends to come out of fashion weeks that you never know where to start. But for me, one colour trend that stood out in the SS13 shows was how many designers used monochrome so prominently in their collections.

I loved how designers used this simple colour combo to reference so many eras, from the sixties (Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs), to the futuristic (Alexander Wang, Gareth Pugh) whilst others used it to simply make outfits look sexy, sophisticated and fresh.
